John K. Hanse (1950-2021) founded Hanse Environmental in 1989 to work on Environmental Stress Screening equipment.

He saw the opportunity to push engineering boundaries on test chambers with Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT) and Highly Accelerated Stress Screening (HASS) systems. His first customers were Whirlpool and Ford Motor Company.

John K. transferred ownership to his sons, Peter K. Hanse and John H. Hanse, in 2009. Peter serves as CEO and John serves as Sales Engineer.
