New Feature:
When running long duration testing in environmental test chambers at high temp/high humidity conditions, the capacitive sensor in the probe can gather condensation leading to inaccuracies in the temperature readings. By using the temperature input on the F4T through an external RTD or thermocouple you can bring in the dewpoint from the probe and with the new function block in the F4T it would convert the two values into %RH which is fed into a process channel for control and display.

Firmware fixes:

When an F4T is powering up and a PLC or HMI is communicating with it, the display and keypad on the F4T will lock up. Previously disconnecting the communications from either the F4T, PLC, or HMI for a few seconds would allow for the display to function correctly. This revision resolves any additional steps and allows communication on power up.

The F4T comes standard with backwards compatible Modbus® addresses for select factors such as process value, set point and critical profile run-time parameters. Firmware revision 04.08.0029 previously displayed the setpoint incorrectly when set to tenths if using Map 2 or 3 registers.

The Trending screen in Composer allows users to access and configure parameters as it relates to Trend Charts. Model numbers beginning F4T1BXXXXXXXXXX previously only allowed configuration from the front face of the unit and will now also allow configuration from Composer .

When writing strings to modbus tcp registers in Firmware 04.08.0029, null characters are converted to underscores. This causes tests to fail when verifying string writes via modbus tcp. This revision will convert null characters to 0.

Users can upgrade units in the field by purchasing the desired feature and entering a code from the factory in the Add Features section of the F4T controller. After the user clicks the enter button on the keyboard screen for one of the code entry boxes, the entry is saved, but the user is returned to the Update screen and must click the Add Features icon again. The cursor will now advanced to the next code entry box.

PLC’s writing to the F4T over Ethernet/IP allows temperature selection in either Fahrenheit or Celsius to be read into the PLC, however only Fahrenheit is transmitted. This release will now allow read and write in both degrees Fahrenheit or Celsius.
